We like to recognize a few long serving Code Instructors who have been involved with code seminars and regular code courses:
Vincent Yu
Vincent is a well known code instructor for more than 30 years in BC. He was the Administrator of the Certification for electrical contractors since 1985 for the former Electrical Safety Branch (ESB). Prior to leaving ESB in 1991, he has participated in many committees with different organizations.
In 1991, Vincent was seconded by BCIT for the Apprenticeship Training Program, during that time, he has trained hundreds of electricians, contractors and inspectors. His approach to helping others was appreciated by everyone who knows him.
He is an active member of Section 6 and 8 of the electrical code for CSA and has made many contributions for enhancement of the Electrical Code.
Vincent has been an electrical inspector for many years for all levels of governments including the Federal, Provincial and Municipal. He has been invited as a guest instructor for UBC for their maintenance and IT departments many occasions.
His method of teaching has been well received by many electricians. Vincent has devoted a lot of time in the education system. His willingness to help has been appreciated by many.
David Hansen
David is currently a local Electrical Safety officer with the City of Surrey. He has also taught electrical code for 20 more years. David brings with him extensive experience in various electrical installations.
His approach to problem has also enjoyed by those attending his course. David is a member of the Electrical Inspectors Association and a member of the Applied Science Technologists and Technicians Association. He too has participated in many committees as well.
For those living in the lower mainland, especially in Surrey, Delta, Langley areas, David is a favorite instructor for many electricians and electrical contractors.
Cam Duncan
Cam brings with him many years working experience in an industrial setting. He is currently a local Electrical Safety Officer and has been for many years.
Cam is accepted and recognized as a code instructor by BCSA. The course will also follow the guidelines provided.
Cam’s commitment to help others was appreciated by those who have attended his course.
